GENERAL GUIDANCE FOR RECEIVING VISA OF THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF AFGHANISTAN

According to the law of travel and residence for foreigners’ thirteen types of visas are applicable in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan which is as following;

  1. Diplomatic Visa
  2. Official Visa
  3. Business Visa
  4. Upon arrival Visa
  5. Working Visa
  6. Touristic visa
  7. Visit Visa
  8. Student Visa
  9. Crew Visa
  10. Entry Permit Visa
  11. Residence Visa
  12. Transit Visa
  13. Exit Visa

WORK VISA

Work visa is issued to employees, doctors, teachers, trainers, experts, engineers, pilots, specialists, and the staff of ground transportation and foreign technical workers who are holding passports based on need and previous invitation for the purpose of working at United Nations offices of international organizations and agencies of government and non-governmental organizations.

Three months Visa, one-month stay and signal entry is issued by the embassies and consulate general of Afghanistan abroad.

The visa for work will be renewed at the request of the offices through the Ministry of the Interior, subject to authorization for a period of one to twelve months.

TOURIST VISA

Tourist Visa is issued for foreign nationals who are interested to visit Afghanistan individually or with a group for the purpose of visiting natural, tourist and historic sites or their relatives. Tourist Visa is issued by the Afghan Missions abroad. The validity of this type of visa is for three months (90 days) and the period of stay would be for thirty (30) days. Which can be extended only once by the Ministry of information and culture with the consent of the Afghan Tourism Department.

VISA REQUIREMENTS

Work  Visa

  1. The letter number from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
  2. Visa Application Form (should be filled completely and correctly).
  3. Two biometric photos (4×3 sizes).
  4. Copy of the passport (the validity period of the applicant’s passport should not be less than six months old).
  5. Applicant’s educational documents.
  6. Employment letter of applicant by the company (he/she is going to work).
  7. Non-criminal liability.
  8. Health Report.
  9. The applicant’s presence is indispensable for the interview.

Tourist visa

  1. Visa Application Form (should be filled completely and correctly).
  2. Two biometric photos (4×3 sizes).
  3. Copy of the passport (the validity period of the applicant’s passport should not be less than six months old).
  4. Non-criminal liability.
  5. The applicant’s presence is indispensable for the interview.
